Power of Self-Care
As Self-Care Providers, we believe that “The Best Health-Care is Self-Care!”
From knowing or discovering what’s important to creating time and space to dream, self care – even radical self care – is at the core of our programs. Kelly’s Self-Care Lunch & Learn program fosters wellness, professional development, motivation and mindfulness for groups in the workplace or other community venues. She incorporates elements of her life coaching, spiritual direction, and her own inspirational journey.
Developed and delivered with the support of Nurse Practitioner and Registered Yoga Teacher Tamara White, the Power of Self-Care Lunch & Learn program is CEU-eligible, and offers simple, healthy, compassionate practices for busy, burnt-out and stressed employees.

Self Care Providers
“The Best Health-Care is Self-Care!” As self-care providers, we believe that healthcare starts with self-care. Our program, “The Power of Self-Care,” delivers a practical toolkit of self-care practices that work and can be easily implemented into a daily routine.
The Power of Self-Care Program offered by Kelly Richey and Tami White is a simple, effective, inexpensive tool to provide employees with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to sustain a healthy, involved, motivated relationship with their workplace. The course focuses on self-care: being individually responsible for and using the tools to develop right attitudes toward self, work, and coworkers. The philosophy and techniques taught help participants to take charge of their own situation. Any job requires involvement of the entire person- body, soul, and spirit. To enroll all of these in our work life and sustain a positive, healthy use of each is a goal of this program. I think this approach can be very helpful. I know the presenters well. They are eminently qualified to bring this course because they are empowered women, successful in their work, not to mention their credentials. Each knows and conveys how to develop and employ skills and attitudes to be happy and fruitful in their work. Kelly has life-coached my daughter in ways she has found helpful to her growth. Tami, as a Nurse Practitioner in Geriatrics, worked with me to develop programs for home-bound older adults. The principles of this course are fundamental to living a self-directed life in advanced age.An Infectious Disease expert once taught my residents, “This test is simple, easy, effective, and cheap. Therefore, we don’t use it.” Sometimes the simple things can be very cost effective. I recommend test driving it.
I loved being introduced to The Power of Self Care program at a mini-retreat. The program is a blessing for several reasons. It's simple. It's effective. It requires a minimal amount of time. Having spent decades observing both professional and volunteer caregivers care for their patients, it became apparent that the caregivers often neglect themselves while caring for others. Self-care is not selfish...it's wise!
Many thanks to Kelly Richey and Tami White for presenting the Power of Self-Care program to the Sisters of the Holy Grail last week. What simple yet powerful suggestions they provided to help us take better care of ourselves.
