Power of Self-Care Virtual Yoga Classes
Almost five years ago, Tami White started teaching chair yoga to the Sisters at Notre Dame, here in Cincinnati. With the recent lockdown due to COVID-19, she received news that she would have to stop her weekly chair yoga classes until things changed. Tami knew the restorative of yoga, and the joy that these classes brought, was saddened by the news.
I had to technology, and we both had a mutual friend that worked with the sisters, so we quickly began exploring possibilities of delivering the class virtually. We discovered that the TVs in everyone’s room was hooked up to an internal network that would allow us to broadcast on channel 3. Currently, we are broadcasting a 90-minute chair yoga class every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 1 pm until 2:30 pm.

This program has been such a success that we’ve opened it up to the community at large. In addition to our afternoon chair yoga classes, we offer a floor yoga class every Thursday night from 7 PM to 8:30 PM. Whether you like chair yoga or floor yoga, we’ve got you covered!
