Our theme this week is THIRD EYE CHAKRA, our practice is GENTLE FLOW – MINDFULNESS & AWARENESS, and our essential oil is SANDALWOOD.

This Week’s Theme

This Week’s Theme is the THIRD EYE CHAKRA: This week, we focus on the third eye center. This chakra is known as the “command center” and is located at the eyebrow lever mid-brain. This chakra is the area where the energy of the mind and body converge. Ways to heal and purify our third eye center include alternate nostril breathing, and meditations focused on this center.

This Week’s Practice

This Week’s Practice is GENTLE FLOW – MINDFULNESS & AWARENESS: This week, we will focus on our third eye chakra. This chakra is connected to the pituitary gland, growth, and development. When relaxed, consciousness flows in this center; we have more intuition, inner-knowing, and a greater sense of knowing that we are much more than a physical body. We will explore some of the following poses: Candle Gazing, Child Pose, Legs Up the Wall.

A note about the class:

The Power of Self Care Virtual Yoga is about “you “listening to your body, clearing your mind, and connecting with your spirit. Some days this might mean relaxing in Shavasana and listening to the healing music of the handpan. On other days you may feel energized and choose to challenge yourself throughout the class. Remember, this is your practice, and we are grateful for your presence.

All poses in our chair or floor yoga classes can be modified to meet individual students’ needs. Before each class, we do a check-in to see if there are any specific needs to be addressed and work hard to ensure all students feel welcome— just as they are!

This Week’s Oil

This Week’s Essential Oil is SANDALWOOD: doTERRA Essential Oils

Sandalwood Essential Oil: Sandalwood is a name given to a class of fragrant woods that, unlike other aromatic woods, can retain their fragrance for decades. Both the wood and oil have been highly valued for centuries and Sandalwood has a documented history of many applications. It was traditionally used as an incense in religious ceremonies and for enhancing meditation, and the Egyptians used sandalwood for embalming. Sandalwood is very beneficial to the skin; it can help reduce the appearance of skin imperfections and it promotes a healthy, smooth complexion. Sandalwood has a sweet, woody aroma that is frequently used in meditation for its grounding effects.

PROPS: Our props for the week – mat, pillow, strap & blocks.
We look forward to seeing you as we continue to build a virtual community together!
One breath, one stretch, one affirmation… at a time!
