We all arrive on our yoga mat for that first class for different reasons.  I took my first yoga class in 2003 with Lilias Folan.  At that time, I was running marathons and knew I needed to gain flexibility and learn how to stretch so I could avoid injury.   I knew that taking a break for my busy schedule and coming to the mat for an hour of quiet, would not be easy, but after a few months, it became a gift I gave to myself, and one I’ve honored ever since.  Inspired by what my yoga practice offered me, I wanted to deepen my practice and be able to share this gift with others.  I completed my 200 RYT yoga training in 2014 at Yoga Home in Mariemont, Ohio.

After five years of teaching, I decided to expand my training and completed my 300 RYT to become a 500 RYT.  In June 2019, I graduated from True Freedom Recovery Yoga with a focus was on Trauma and Ayurveda.  Yoga means to join – the unification of two things.  For some, this means joining hands to toes in a forward bend, and for others, it may mean joining the human heart with our higher power.  Whether you’re touching your hands to feet or reaching for your highest self, there must be movement, and for me, this movement is Yoga.

As a Nurse Practitioner, I teach Yoga every day as I’m seeing patients.  It may be as simple as reminding someone to breathe, or teaching patients stretches they can do from a chair, or in their beds.  I tell patients that motion is lotion to the joints, and we all need to move them each day to maintain balance, flexibility, and strength. The first 50 years of our life are genetic, and the second 50 are up to us. Yoga is a powerful daily self-care practice that anyone can do.  I teach one-on-one private clients in their homes, and I deliver chair, flow, and restorative classes in the greater Cincinnati area. I have been blessed to teach Yoga to kids as young as four and to seniors who are 104!  Yoga is for every-body, Mission is to make that accessible as many people as possible.

Due to COVID-19, we had significant client demand to move our wellness programs online and provide virtual sessions. We now offer all of our services via Skype, Zoom, or other popular video conferencing software. Nurse practitioner Tamara White is offering medical consulting services, group, and private yoga instruction, combined with guided meditation and healing music by Kelly Richey. Kelly Richey is offering coaching, spiritual direction, and writing programs virtually as well. Since more people are working and connecting remotely now, and the need is so great, we are offering all online services at a 20% discount.
