HEALING MUSIC & WELLNESS FACILITATOR
Kelly Richey is not only an award-winning blues musician, poet/songwriter, and guitar teacher; she is also a life coach, writing facilitator, spiritual director, and inspirational speaker. She has made and continues to make her mark on the world through the power of her voice – both figuratively and literally.
Kelly’s work as a musician led her to cultivate her voice in the healing arts. She believes in the value of nurturing everyone’s voice, which has led her to pursue various facets of the coaching field. She is committed to supporting clients and groups on the pathways toward wholeness through writing, spiritual directions, and wellness coaching, as well as the development of strong teams that coalesce with clarity and resolve.
In 2009, after a long career as a professional musician, Kelly officially began her journey in the helping profession to become certified as a Dream Coach and True Purpose Coach. These trainings became the foundation of a path in the healing arts that she continues today as a coach. She believes that each person has inner wisdom that rests beneath the surface of his or her conscious mind. The process was the impetus for her sobriety and weight loss and eventual journey to wholeness. Kelly realized that she could add to the lives of others beyond her work as a musician. And so she expanded her training and deepened her experience in these fields.
In 2015, she graduated the Women Writing for (a) Change®, Conscious Feminine Leadership Academy. Kelly has woven creative writing practices into her work as a coach in the healing arts. Kelly developed unique writing programs that continue to aid in strengthening her audience’s spiritual core while cultivating the power of self-care . Using WWf(a)C practices, the focus on writing during and outside of class is a means of discovery and affirmation.
In 2019, Kelly completed her training in the Art of Spiritual Direction at Wellstreams, through the Spirituality Network in Columbus, OH. Through this work, she continues to practice the deep, healing art of listening and reflection. She is present with directees as they “travel” on the inner journey to explore and deepen their relationship with the Divine. This work inspired Kelly to become a Health and Wellness Professional; a program Kelly credits with reviving her own journey to self-care and balance. Kelly works with clients, using her training, to help them achieve a balanced, holistic life.
Fast forward to today, Kelly has teamed up with Tamara White and established Self-Care Providers as a home for her Healing Arts practices. Self-Care Providers offer programs that foster professional development, motivation, and mindfulness practices for groups and individuals alike. Kelly incorporates elements of her life coaching, spiritual direction, and her own inspirational journey.
After over three decades as a Guitar Instructor, Performer, Songwriter, and Recording Artist, Kelly has broadened her musical offerings with the addition of the handpan and Native American flute, and incorporates these in her work as a healing artist. Kelly has been an Artist on Tour for the Cincinnati Arts Association, since 2003. In 2019, she joined their Healing Arts program, and plays healing music for hospice, the VA, and chair yoga classes.
Today Kelly continues to enjoy her first passion of teaching, playing, and recording music, in addition to her well-established work in the Healing-Arts. A passionate performer, presenter, facilitator, and one-on-one coach, please visit Kelly’s website to find out more about how you can work with her and enjoy her music.
