Tamara began her yoga journey in 2003. After a lifetime of running marathons, she needed new ways to help her body rest and recover from the added stress she was putting on it. She discovered yoga as a way to stretch and stay flexible and optimally recover from training, and she was hooked. After first practicing with Lillias Folan, she found the many benefits of yoga reached far beyond recovery, and in fact, had a slew of positive effects on her overall health. And so, Tamara completed her teacher RYT 200 at Yoga Home in 2014.

In June of 2019, Tamara completed her 300 RYT teacher training at True Freedom Recovery Yoga with a focus on Ayurveda and yoga for trauma and recovery. In August of 2019, Tamara completed her THAI Yoga Massage training at True Freedom Recovery Yoga. Thai massage or “Thai yoga massage” is a traditional healing system combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures.

Tamara is also trained in Healing Touch, Level 1 (2007) and Level 2 (2010), and received her training through Cincinnati Healing Touch.
Tamara and her husband, Chris, have a passion for helping dogs and have fostered over 130 dogs over the past 20 years. In 2014, Tamara completed her canine massage training and was trained as a healing touch for animal practitioners by Carol Komitor, Founder of Healing Touch for Animals. Tamara works with animals in the clients’ homes, where the animal is most comfortable.
