Our theme this week is HEART CHAKRA, our practice is HEART OPENING & CONNECTION, and our essential oil is BREATHE.

This Week’s Theme

This Week’s Theme is the HEART CHAKRA: This week, we focus on the chest center. Himalayan Tantric tradition calls this the most powerful center of all, and is said to be the very “seat of the soul.” This chakra is associated with the lungs and the element of air. This energy center radiates the highest qualities of being human— compassion, unconditional love, and faith in the Divine.

One of the best ways to open a closed heart is through giving and receiving love! Also, if you’re a pet lover, pet shows us unconditional love, and they are masters at the art of learning how to LET GO!

This Week’s Practice

This Week’s Practice is HEART OPENING & CONNECTION: This week, we will focus on our heart chakra. The physical problems associated with closed Heart Chakra are Coronary Artery Disease, Asthma, Immune System Deficiencies, and Shoulder Pain. We will explore some of the following poses: Poses Bridge, Camel, Cat-Cow, Cobra, and Wild Thing!

Heart Chakra (Anahata)

At the center of the chest, the heart chakra is said, in the Himalayan Tantric tradition, to be the most powerful center of all, the very “seat of the soul.” Associated with the lungs and the element of air, we can imagine the heart as the meeting ground for the vast spectrum of our human emotional experience. The heart has the capacity to radiate the highest aspects of the human being: compassion, unconditional love and total faith in the Divine. But it also has the capacity to radiate our deepest feelings of insecurity, disappointment, loneliness and despair. To bring more light into the chakra of the heart, work with pranayama, heart-centric meditation, and heart-felt prayer. Backbends will also help open the energetic centers of the heart.
